சோதிடம் வேதங்களின் கண் என்று போற்றப்படுகிறது. மனிதகுலம் பெறத்தக்க மிகப்பெரிய கணித அறிவாக சோதிடம் நம் முன்னோர்களால் கருதப்பட்டது. சோதிடத்தினை தரவு அறிவியலின் (data science) துணை கொண்டு நோக்கினோம் என்றால் சோதிடத்தின் உள் கட்டமைப்பில் நமது முன்னோர்கள் செய்து வைத்துள்ள மகத்தான சாதனைகள் புலப்படும். இன்றைய நவீன புள்ளியியல் மற்றும் தரவு அறிவியலின் அடிப்படை கோட்பாடுகளாகவும் உச்சக்கட்ட வளர்ச்சியாகவும் சொல்லப்படுகின்ற பல விஷயங்களையும் பல்லாயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னரே நமது முன்னோர்கள் சோதிட துறையில் மிக நேர்த்தியாகவும், தெளிவாகவும், போகின்ற போக்கில் மிகவும் சாதாரணமாகவும் பயன்படுத்தி உள்ளனர்.
செயற்கை நுண்ணறிவு (artificial intelligence), இயந்திர வழிக் கற்றல் (machine learning) மற்றும் ஆழ்ந்த கற்றல் (deep learning) மூலம் நமது முன்னோர்களின் உருவாக்கி வைத்துள்ள கணித அறிவின் உச்சங்களை நாம் அறிந்து கொள்ளலாம். அவர்களின் புள்ளியியல் / தரவு அறிவியல் அறிவுக்கட்டுமானத்தை சரியாக புரிந்து கொள்வதன் மூலம், மற்ற துறைகளிலும் அவற்றை பிரயோகப்படுத்தி மேம்பட்ட தீர்வுகளை அடைய முடியும்.

Purpose of this AIMLAstrology blog
Astrology is regarded as the eye of Vedas. It was considered as the supreme mathematical knowledge mankind can possess. I have been looking at Astrology through the lens of data science and amused at the eloquent use of so-called modern data science principles by our forefathers with utmost ease and precision. I strongly believe that a complete understanding of astrology from a data science perspective could help us find the keys to solve some of the age-old puzzles in astrology that we have no clue about now.
Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) to the fields of astrology (AIMLAstrology) can help understand and solve some of these complex mathematical constructs in astrology. We could also create intelligent and self-learning machines and systems, which can combine the collective knowledge of individual systems across the world to predict about individuals and their life events more reliably. Such a system can be a boon to the humankind, if used properly.
In this space, I am sharing my musings on the need to create such a system, the building blocks required to create it, application, and evidence of data science constructs in Indian astrology and how the astrological community can benefit from leaning on the data science side to regain its past glory.
I would also like to create community assets (classes, database, tools, applications, methods, algorithms, fact sheets etc.) that can be leveraged by a larger community to implement AI and ML in astrology (AIMLAstrology). This website can serve as a platform to support such dedicated initiatives. If you have the expertise, time, and interest to be part of this initiative, please drop me a note at admin@aimlastrology.in. Please note that this could be a long journey, even beyond our lifetime!
